Life stories, vocation and university: a narrative analysis of university students in the area of nutrition.
Abstract
Entering university transforms students' values, habits, and decisions, impacting their academic and personal development. This qualitative study analyzed the experiences of Nutrition students at a public university in southeastern Mexico. Through a questionnaire validated by experts, data was collected from students starting in the fourth semester. The results revealed that the names chosen reflect family, personal, and spiritual influences. Family experiences and birthplace were key in their identity and career choice, although they caused some tensions. Students faced challenges such as entrance exams and economic difficulties, but they value the balance between theory and practice and hope to contribute to public health.
