Is creativity a relevant factor in the manifestation of school absenteeism?
Abstract
The objective was to compare creativity and its relationship with low, moderate, and high risk of school absenteeism in secondary school students. A quantitative, comparative field approach was used. A total of 575 secondary school students and 25 of their teachers participated. The results indicated that overall, 64% of the students were at risk of truancy. The percentages for each indicator were 36% for low risk level, 38% for moderate risk and 26% for high risk. Furthermore, the findings established a relationship between the presence of truancy risks and creativity, so creative thinking can be considered a protective factor.
