Healthy lifestyle in terms of diet and its relationship with health, sleep, physical activity, nicotine dependence, and alcohol consumption.
Abstract
The aim of this article is to analyze the relationship between healthy eating habits and physical activity, sleep quality, health, nicotine dependence, and alcohol consumption. The sample consists of 1244 young adults aged 17 to 50 years (M = 19.44, SD = 4.07). The results indicate that young adults with a high level of healthy eating habits, compared to those in the moderate and low healthy eating groups, exhibit greater physical activity, better sleep quality, and improved health. Conversely, young adults with a low level of healthy eating habits show higher rates of alcohol dependence, hazardous alcohol use, harmful alcohol use, and nicotine dependence.
