La organización regional oaxaqueña en la ciudad de los Ángeles: gobernanza y patrimonio.

Abstract

The study analyzes the role of the *Organización Regional de Oaxaca* (ORO) in Los Ángeles in fostering social integration and defending the cultural identity of the Oaxacan indigenous community. This has been achieved through a new form of governance involving social and political actors, while contending with a hostile environment characterized by poverty, discrimination, and racism. Its primary contribution is highlighting governance as an ongoing process of social adaptation and transformation. In conclusion, the ORO has established itself as a key actor for its community, though it continues to face the challenge of seizing new opportunities to ensure full integration and preserve its cultural heritage.
