Abstract

This study analyzed the impact of a remotivation program on the volition of 15 male adolescents (aged 16–21) deprived of liberty at the “Quinta del Bosque” Juvenile Detention Center in the State of Mexico. The study utilized the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) for over 18 sessions spanning three months and employed the Pediatric Volitional Questionnaire (PVQ) for pre-test and post-test assessments. Results showed a statistically significant increase (p < 0.001) in PVQ scores (pre-test mean = 1.8; post-test mean = 3.1). Significant improvements were observed, suggesting that the remotivation program strengthened essential aspects of volition, such as personal causation, values, and interests. It is concluded that strengthening volition is fundamental to remotivation and social reintegration.
